Sojourners’ Minutes – March and April 2008

Our March meeting was held March 17th in the church parlor at 2:00. The Sojourner UMW decided to collect each month specific items for NSO (Neighborhood Service Organization).  In March we held a drive for non-perishable food, and during April we collected linens-sheets and blankets, twin or full.  A large basket was placed in the church foyer.  The items will be distributed to the different homes the UMC of Oklahoma sponsors.

On April 21st at 2:00 we met in the home of Christine Neill. Connie Fruits asked us to consider helping furnish an apartment for Martha's house.  Possible needs are bedding, kitchen appliances, furniture, etc.  We will continue discussion of this at our next meeting.  Julie Woods suggested having a craft sale to raise money for a missionary project. We are to be thinking of projects and crafts we might consider making to sell.   Our NSO basket overflowed w/linens for our Methodist homes.  During the month of May we will collect laundry soap/dryer sheets.
